Çelikler Holding Energy Group, a company affiliated to Çelikler Holding, is engaged in the production and trade of safe, continuous, quality and environmentally friendly electrical energy, always acting in line with profitability and efficiency principles to serve the benefit of the country. Our group is also engaged in mining activities to meet the lignite requirement of lignite-fired Thermal Power Plants under its responsibility. Being aware that the resources used in Electrical Energy production are limited and taking into account the world we will leave to future generations, our company acts with an energy policy that is based on domestic and national resources. Operating their business with this sense of duty, our company makes maximum efforts to make the best of domestic and national resources. Within this framework, Çelikler Holding having an installed capacity of 2,769 MW aims to increase this number by 40% in the short term by way of new investments and business plans. The company meets 5% of Turkey's ever-increasing electrical energy needs with domestic, national and renewable resources, by virtue of the 4 coal-fired Thermal Power Plants, 7 Geothermal Power Plants and 1 Hydroelectric Power Plant that the company has currently at its disposal as of the end of 2020. Çelikler Holding’s lignite production is carried out at Kütahya Seyitömer, Kahramanmaraş Elbistan and Bursa Orhaneli mine sites. With an annual lignite production of over 40 million tons, the company currently covers 27% of Turkey's coal needs. The produced lignite coal also meets the fuel requirement of 4 lignite-fired Thermal Power Plants to generate electricity. The Holding has investment plans for capacity increase and rehabilitation activities within the scope of their mining activities, by which the holding intends to protect the country’s national values and achieve growth through the increased use of local resources coupled with improvements in production capacity and efficiency.
